체계적인 학생지원 시스템

카플란의 장점이라면 체계적인 학생 지원 시스템을 꼽을 수 있습니다. 학교 및 컬리지, 학생지원 사무소에 있는 각 파트별 담당자들이 학업기간 동안 학생의 문제점이나 복지를 위해 여러가지 서비스를 제공하고 있습니다. 한 예로 방과후 활동을 기획하는 전담 코디네이터가 있어 방과 후 활동에 많은 학생들이 참여게 합닏. 이로인해 수업 시간 이외에도 다른 학생들과 교류를 통해 국제감각과 영어 연습의 기회가 그만큼 늘어납니다.

독자적인 학습교재와 e-러닝

카플란은 특히 어학 및 시험 준비 전문과정으로 유명한 어학원입니다. 대부분의 집중 영어 프로그램과 달리, Kaplan은 Kaplan만의 특수한 교육 과정과 교재를 개발하기 위해 수 백만 달러를 투자하였습니다. 모든 Kaplan의 교재와 CD-Rom, 비디오는 오직 저희 교육 Center에서만 찾아볼 수 있습니다. 또한 학생들의 언어 학습과 시험준비를 돕기 위해 최신 기술을 이용한 멀티미디어 교재도 전 Center에서 사용하고 있습니다.

영국에는 런던, 옥스포드, 캠브리지, 본머스, 바스, 솔즈베리, 맨체스터, 리버풀, 토키, 에딘버러, 아일랜드의 더블린에 센터 총 12개의 센터가 있는 영국에서 가장 큰 그룹학교라 할 수 있습니다.

방과후에도 계속되는 학습 K+ clubs

카플란의 1레슨은 45분으로 다소 다른 어학원에 비해 수업시간이 짧은 편입니다.(일반적으로 50분 수업이 가장 많으며 간혹 1레슨이 60분 수업인 경우도 있음)

주당 20레슨이라고 하지만 시간으로만 따지면 15시간이니, 집중적으로 공부하고픈 학생들에게는 적은 양이 아닐까 생각되지만 본 수업이외 클럽활동을 통해 다양한 수업을 무료로 제공받을 수 있습니다.

클럽활동 내용은 학생의 관심도와 요구에 따라 조금씩 변동되며 매주 다양하게 제공됩니다. 

카플란 런던 코벤트가든

카플란 런던 코벤트가든 캠퍼스는 런던 도심에서 가장 화려한 지역 중 한 곳인 코벤트 가든의 중심에 위치해 있습니다. 왕립 오페라하우스를 비롯한 주요 극장의 본거지인 코벤트가든은 시장과 전문상점, 노천까페로 유명한 곳입니다.

옥스퍼드 거리의 상점가, 홀번의 대영박물관까지 도보로 이동 가능한 거리에 있어 자유시간을 즐길때 선택의 폭이 넓습니다.

코벤트가든 캠퍼스는 레스터스퀘어 캠퍼스보다 좀더 큰 편으로 집중 비즈니스 뿐만아니라, 캠브리지과정 또한 CPE까지 개설되며, 선택과목들은 초급부터 Adv+까지 다양한 레벨별로 제공되고 있어 영어레벨이 높은 학생들은 코벤트가든을 추천드립니다.

코스 구성

카플란 어학원의 일반영어 코스는 다음과 같이 3가지가 있습니다.

  • 일반영어(General  English), 준집중영어(Semi-Intensive English), 집중영어(Intensive English)

준집중영어(Semi-Intensive English) 부터 포함되는 K+Learning Clubs은 정규수업이 아닌 방과 후 수업 느낌이라서 한국 학생들은 추가 비용을 내고 잘 선택하지 않습니다. 그래서 오전 수업만 있는 일반영어(General  English) 또는 8레슨의 선택과목까지 있는 집중영어(Intensive English) 코스를 많이 선택합니다.

  카플란 전 센터로 센터이동이 가능하다. 단, 아카데믹코스 등록자는 센터변경시 1회 무료로 제공되며 일반영어 등록자는 변경수수료 60파운드 지불해야한다

  아카데믹코스의 경우 임으로 방학신청이 불가능하며, 휴가기간이 정혀져 있음

  Cambridge(캠브리지)공인시험센터로 인증됨
  코벤트 가든 센터만 유일하게 캠브리지 CPE 과정까지 개설
  매주 월요일마다 캠브리지 과정 입학이 가능해 본인의 연수기간에 맞춰 공부할 수 있음
  K tools 라고 하는 온라인 이러닝 시스템이 체계적으로 운영되어 온라인을 통해 연습문제 및 과제등을 해결하는 데 유용하며, 교사의 학생 즉각적인 피드백 이루어짐
  K+clubs라고 하는 방과 후 스터디 클래스가 운영되어 학생들은 원래 수업량보다 더 많은 학습을 할 수 있으며, 다양한 주제로 토론등을 하게 되어 스피킹 향상에 많은 도움을 받을 수 있음
  영어권 국가에서 영어를 공부하기 위해 고안된 학습 자료가 카플란 강사진들에 의해 만들어졌으며, 학생들은 이 학습자료를 통해 다양한 시사적인 주제로 영어를 공부함

환불정책

유학파인더는 학교의 환불규정을 100% 준수합니다. 그러므로 등록전에 반드시 등록하시는 학교의 환불 규정을 확인하셔야 합니다.
CANCELLATION/POSTPONEMENT POLICY

‘Cancellation’ means cancelling a course before the start date of the first course you are attending. Except as provided below for US, New Zealand and the UK, in all other cases where cancellations are made in writing 7 days or more before the arrival date listed on the booking confirmation form, or on written notification of a visa rejection and receipt of relevant supporting documentation, 100% of the tuition and accommodation fees will be refunded, but in all cases, the courier fee, accommodation placement fee (if utilised), enrolment fee (refundable in New Zealand) and any other service charges are nonrefundable. For cancellations and postponements made less than 7 days before the arrival date listed on the booking confirmation form including failure to show up, tuition and accommodation fees will be refunded less one week’s accommodation fee (two weeks’ accommodation fee for hostels and apartments in Australia) and a tuition fee of EUR150, USD200, CAD200, AUD240. In all cases, the courier fee, enrolment fee, accommodation placement fee, medical insurance and any other service charges are nonrefundable. In all cases where a visa or visa support documentation has been issued, the relevant immigration authorities will be informed.

REFUND POLICY
Refunds will be made via the Kaplan representative to whom the fees were originally paid, or to the student’s bank account in the same country in which the fees were originally paid. All refunds will be made within 45 days of written notification. In the event of Kaplan cancelling or terminating a course, a full refund of all unused fees will be made.
TERMINATION POLICY

‘Termination’ means stopping or leaving all or part of the course or courses booked, including extensions, once the first course has started. When determining the number of weeks completed, a partial week will be counted as a whole week, provided the student was present at least one day during the scheduled week. Used weeks of discounted tuition and accommodation packages will be charged at the full brochure weekly rate when any refund is calculated.

In all cases additional service charges (eg. airport transfers, courier fees, enrolment fees, medical insurance, accommodation placement fee, programme supplement fee, etc.) are non-refundable and written notification of termination must be given to the school Principal or Director. Students who terminate their programme may not be eligible to receive a Kaplan certificate.

Tuition

UK, Ireland, and Australia: No refunds will be made for tuition. Tuition fees are non-transferable to other students.

Canada: Students wishing to terminate must give 4 weeks’ notice to the School Director. The refund will be calculated as below according to the percentage of the course completed including the notice period:

- after up to 10% of the programme has been completed: 50% refund of unused tuition fees

- after 11-29% of the programme has been completed: 30% refund of unused tuition fees

- after 30% or more of the programme has completed: 0% refund of unused tuition fees

For all Test Preparation courses, including GRE®, GMAT®, CAE, FCE and TAE, refunds will be calculated, as follows for terminations made:

- after 1 training session* but before 2 training sessions*, 75% of tuition paid (less shipping fee)

- after 2 training sessions* but before 3 training sessions*, 50% of tuition paid (less shipping fee)

- after completing 3 training sessions*, no refund

*Due to the wide selection of Kaplan training resources offered, a training session is defined as any of the following: 1) one class (teaching session or proctored exam); 2) one visit to the in-centre training library; 3) use of online training resources (workshops, quizzes, online Diagnostic, etc); 4) one tutoring or consulting session; 5) use of the homestudy materials.
ccommodation

Accommodation: UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand: Students must give 4 weeks’ notice (or 8 weeks’ notice for discounted accommodation packages) in writing to the School Director/Principal. A refund will be made of the unused accommodation fee less the applicable notice period and the applicable change fee. For terminations made after 50% of the booking has been completed, no refund will be given, except in Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
